The Saujon Star
From Saujon to Corme Écluse
25km – 1h40 – easy – tarmaced roads
From Saujon station, follow the signs to Port de Ribérou which is the starting point for this loop. The ride takes you through an agricultural landscape, a countryside full of colour from the sunflowers, wheat and vines that grow there. You will follow the quiet lanes that criss cross the countryside from one village to the next, allowing you to take in the architectural heritage of the local area.

From Saujon to la boucle de l’Éguille
15km – 1 hour – easy – tarmaced roads, gravel and grassy paths
From Saujon station, head towards port de Ribérou and follow signs for DV n°8. You will ride along the banks of one of France’s smallest rivers – the Seudre – where the famous “Marennes Oléron” oyster is king. During your ride, you will be able to watch the sea farmers come and go in their flat-bottomed boats. You’ll also be able to get close to the local wildlife. Along the banks of the river, you can see a maze of channels and grids of water marked out with grass.

Les chemins de la Seudre
From La Tremblade to Mornac-sur-Seudre
30km – 2 hours – easy – tarmaced roads
As soon as you get to La Tremblade, collect your bike from the train and follow the water channel “La Grève” which will lead you to the banks of the Seudre. Head towards Mornac sur Seudre following the clearly signposted cycleway “Les Chemins de la Seudre”.
From La Tremblade to Mornac-sur-Seudre, the waterways are laid out along the estuary like a giant chessboard or maze. In places, they resemble paddy fields or a huge mosaic. Take time along the route to stop for a well-deserved bite to eat.
Before heading back to the station at Mornac-sur Seudre take the time to explore one of France’s most beautiful villages. Then return to your starting point – but this time let the train take the strain!

From the Seudre to the Vélodyssée®
Go from Mornac-sur-Seudre to the Atlantic
15km – 1 hour – easy – tarmaced roads, cycleways and gravel paths
Set off from Mornac-sur-Seudre, leaving behind the Seudre where land and water meet, to head towards the sand dunes and beaches of the Atlantic coast. You will pass through the Combots d’Ansoine, a vast forest full of green oak and maritime pine trees. Replanted in the 19th century to keep the sand from engulfing the land, the forest is home to hundreds of bird species and is the perfect spot to commune with nature. You may also spot several important types of flower, including orchids. Your journey ends at the beach path in Les Combots car park.

From La Tremblade to La Palmyre
13km – 50 minutes – easy – tarmaced roads, gravel paths and cycleways
This gentle ride allows you to go a little further than La Tremblade and takes you along the edge of the la Coubre Forest.
Once you have reached Dirée, you will join a cycle path, allowing you to make your way easily to La Palmyre and la Baie de Bonne Anse.

Important information
Disabled access: One carriage on the train has been specially adapted for disabled passengers: 6 available spaces for wheelchairs and 10 seats for carers. The carriage is equipped with an electronic lift. This carriage is for the use of disabled passengers only.
Bikes: Bikes are carried on the train free of charge in the dedicated carriage. Bikes must be loaded under the supervision of the train manager. Cycle routes
Pushchairs: Folding pushchairs can be carried on the train. In busy periods you may be asked to fold the pushchair and store in it in the carriage for bikes.
Pets: Dogs are allowed on board They must travel on your lap or at your feet. Please keep your dog on a leash and respect the surroundings and your fellow passengers.
